Another juror has been dismissed from the Roger Clemens trial because they had fallen asleep during the trial.
The juror, from Seat 1, has been replaced by the first alternate from Seat 7.
Clemens is on trial determining whether or not he lied to Congress when he lied about taking performance enhancing steroids.
The Boston Red Sox made a classy gesture and replaced former pitcher Derek Lowe's 2004 World Series ring after it was stolen in April.
Lowe's Fort Myers, Florida home was robbed in April and he lost about $90,000 worth of property, including his World Series ring.
When Lowe's Cleveland Indians visited Fenway Park this past week, Lowe had a very nice surprise waiting for him. Before Saturday's game against the Red Sox, owner John Henry, president and CEO Larry Lucchino, and chairman Tom Werner showed up to the Indians clubhouse to personally give Derek Lowe his ring back.
Lowe said of the gesture, “You know me, I can talk. But it was one of those moments where I didn’t even know what to say. It wasn’t like they just sent over a bat boy or sent it over. All three of them came over to give it to me. They said some really nice things. ”I just don’t want it to go unnoticed. I knew there was an opportunity for me to buy another one, but to have all three of them there when they gave it to me really meant a lot. It’s something I’ll never forget. It almost means more this time because it was a selfless act on their part. I just want people to know they did this.”
Derek Lowe became the first Major Leaguer to win all three series clinching games in 2004 and went 3-0 with an ERA of 1.86 in that fateful postseason.
Philadelphia Eagles tackle Jason Peters re-injured his right Achilles tendon in a fall at his home.
Peters was on his Roll-A-Bout at the time when the device gave way and Peters fell on his face and ruptured his surgically repaired Achilles tendon. Peters plans on suing the makers of Roll-A-Bout, a device used for people with leg or foot injuries to move around freely.
A second surgery was performed on Peters and set his recovery time back by about three weeks.
Peters was not expected to play during the 2012 season after originally rupturing the Achilles in March while working out.
Oklahoma City Thunder guard James Harden was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year today.
Harden led all bench players in scoring with 16.8 points per game and shot a career best 49 percent from the field. Harden recorded his first 40 point game last month against the Phoenix Suns.
Harden said after accepting the award, "A lot more opportunities have come my way, all I did was just took advantage of them." Harden received 115 of the 119 first places votes. The other first place votes went to the Philadelphia 76ers' Lou Williams (three votes) and the Chicago Bulls' Taj Gibson (one vote).
Newly sworn in (again) Russian president Vladimir Putin took to the ice in an exhibition hockey match against Russian hockey legends.
Putin, who I'm guessing was awarded first, second, and third stars for his heroic performance, scored a goal and an assist in regulation time.
The score was tied after three periods, so a shootout was needed and Putin was just the guy that they wanted up.
Putin went ahead and scored a goal against a goaltender that has the reflexes of Tin Man before Dorothy got to him (a bit of a stretch but I got the joke out). Putin made a statement with that goal and it was simply, "Watch out Ovechkin!"
The only thing missing from this clip was a Mighty Duck-esque ending after Putin's goal, so here it is.
The Douglas County (Colorado) Sheriff's Department have searched the home of Denver Nuggets center Chris Andersen as part of an investigation conducted by the Internet Crimes Against Children unit.
Andersen, more commonly known as "Birdman", was at home when police showed up and according to investigators "fully cooperated" with the sheriffs.
It is not known what was seized from Andersen's home, but the items in question were sent to the Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory. The lab is located near Denver and is run by both the FBI and local law enforcement agencies.
An investigation into Andersen started in February when a law enforcement agency in California tipped off the Sheriff's Department. Details are not being released at this time due to the ongoing investigation. It could take the lab weeks to search hard drives and other materials related to the case.
The Denver Nuggets have no responded to the allegations.
Andersen's agent and attorney, Mark Bryant, issued a statement that said: "At this time, I respect the process and I have no further comment to protect the integrity of everyone involved. We'll proceed from there."
New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera suffered a torn ACL while shagging fly balls before the Yankees game against the Kansas City Royals on Thursday.
Rivera was leaping for a ball hit by Jayson Nix when he fell on the warning track. Rivera was noticeably in pain as he was grimacing and rubbing his face. Rivera regularly fields fly balls during practice to stay in shape.
Rivera was carted off the field and needed help to walk into the Yankees' clubhouse. During the game, he was sent to Kansas University Med-West Hospital for an MRI. Royals trainer Vincent Key diagnosed the torn ACL after examining Rivera's MRI.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi has said that he is leaning towards naming David Robertson as Rivera's replacement and Rafael Soriano as Robertson's setup man.

Today, another emotional reflection on Seau's life was made by former teammate of Seau and current ESPN analyst Marcellus Wiley. Wiley appeared on ESPN's NFL Live to talk about his friend and teammate.
Wiley was clearly distraught and emotional right from the start saying that in his denial he texted Seau to make sure the rumors were false. More important than anything else was that Wiley spoke highly of him as a person more than as a player.
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim pitcher Jered Weaver completed the tenth no-hitter in Angel history last night against the Twins, but could have lost it by one simple action.
Before the ninth inning, Weaver was seen going to the bathroom, bucking the superstition that pitchers that are attempting to pitch a no-no go through. Weaver told Harold Reynolds of MLB Network, "I didn't know whether to sit down or go do it or what, but I had to go relieve myself."

After Junior Seau's tragic and shocking death on Wednesday, his mother, Luisa, made a statement to the press that would leave a harden man shaken.
Luisa Seau somehow mustered up the strength to say a few words while pleading for God to, "take me, take me, leave my son, but its too late."
Seau was discovered at his home by his girlfriend in what police are calling a self inflicted gunshot wound to the chest.
