The University of Washington football team got a head start on some recruiting today when a middle schooler announced that he will commit to playing for the Huskies.

Tate Martell, 14, hasn't even reached the eighth grade yet, but coach Steve Sarkisian was impressed with his play that he made an early offer towards the teen. Martell had turned some heads with his performance at the Steve Clarkson's Throwback Football League.

A YouTube highlight reel has showed the skills of 14 year old phenom. The video starts off by showing the 5'11" quarterback rolling to his right and firing a 35 yard throw on the run.

Martell will not be able to sign a letter of intent until February 1, 2017 and its very likely that none of the Husky roster will remain once Martell goes on campus.

Washington isn't the first school to offer a middle schooler a scholarship this week. LSU offered a scholarship to eighth grader Dylan Moses this week after he performed well at LSU's football camp. The possibly future Tiger back ran the 40 in 4.46 seconds. Moses and his family have not yet accepted LSU's offer.
