Indians Announcer Says Racist Remark During Game
Cleveland Indians television analyst Rick Manning may want to think the next time he tries to make a clever remark.
Shin-Soo Choo hit a double last night of the center field wall that barely missed leaving the park and Manning comes up with this gem.
I wouldn't have expected anything less from the team that still has Chief Wahoo as its mascot.
First of all, he got the ethnicity wrong. Sushi is a Japanese cuisine and Choo is Korean.
Second of all, have you learned nothing from the Jeremy Lin situation. It may have been a harmless joke, but even the slightest, most innocent remark can offend people, case in point ESPN's "Trailer park day" remark.
It was just an innocent remark with no ill will towards Choo and probably won't get in any trouble, but next time he just needs to think.

We are way too sensitive. We worry more about someones words than their actions. Manning is the COLOR commentator. Is that remark racist.

What a joke this article is. First 4 to 5 Indians baseball players not Native Indians will eat Sushi before a game. And yes other people besides Japanese do eat Sushi. And second Chief Wahoo doesn't slight Native Indians it was to honor them. Get your facts straight before you call someone a racist.

Racist !!!!!!!!!!! What kind of idiot would ever think Rick was racist. You're just looking for something to write about. I've never heard of anything so stupid in all my life!
