The Texas State Bobcats were playing in their first ever game in the Football Bowl Subdivision on Saturday against the Houston Cougars. No one thought that the Bobcats could win this game, I mean Houston finished 13-1 and ranked #18 last season, while the Bobcats went 6-6 in the FCS.
Except for one man.
The William Hill Race and Sports Book in Las Vegas said that a man placed a $2,000 bet on the Bobcats and at 60-1 odds, he won $120,000.
The Texas State Bobcats were a 34 point underdog and became only the seventh team to win a game as a 30+ point underdog since 1980.
This man clearly has money to burn after making such an idiotic bet, but it just goes to show you that football is played on the field rather than paper.
