Minnesota State head football coach Todd Hoffner is facing child pornography charges in Minnesota after police booked him at his home earlier Tuesday.

The Associated Press reports that Hoffner has not been formally charged as of yet, but the booking is related to child pornography charges. Police searched through Hoffner's garbage and towed his vehicle.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff is considering charging Hoffner with two possible charges, use of minors in a sexual performance and possession of pornographic work involving minors.

The sheriff's office received a tip that someone was possessing child pornography and a search warrant was executed at Hoffner's home on Tuesday.

Hoffner remains in Blue Earth County jail as he awaits official charges. The case is currently under investigation.

Hoffner has been head coach of the Minnesota State-Makato Mavericks since 2008 and has a record of 34-13. Minnesota State won the Mineral Water Bowl and were co-champions of the Division II Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this past season.
