New Orleans Saints To Try Out Rugby Player
The New Orleans Saints have tried out Australian rugby player Hayden Smith, according to sources close to the team.
Smith, a 6 foot 7, 265 pounder from Perth, played for the Saracens Football Club from St. Albans, England, where his team won the Aviva Premiership championship. He is relatively new to the game of rugby, he attended Metropolitan State College in Colorado on a basketball scholarship.
Smith also tried out for the New York Jets recently, but was not offered a contract.
The Saints have not offered Smith a contract as of this time.
