Penn State Fan Compares Sanctions to 9/11
The NCAA came down hard on Penn State yesterday. Real hard. They were fined $60 million and banned from four bowl games just to say a few. Needless to say, fans didn't take the news very well.
One Penn State fan and alumnus took it a step further.
Tom Price of Factoryville, PA told WNEP of Scranton that the sanctions put forth by the NCAA is like 9/11 all over again.
Right. Being fined, losing scholarships and multiple bowl games is just like 3,000 lives being lost in a senseless act of terrorism. Exactly the same thing.
Price told the channel, "I can't put my arms around it. It was our 9/11 today. I just saw planes crashing into two towers."
Its just football, sir. Penn State was more than deserving of the sanctions. The top brass and Joe Paterno knew about Sandusky's actions for years but failed to do anything. The NCAA needed to do this and fans need to understand this.
What Penn State fans are forgetting is that there are victims involved in this matter. Children were abused in the most heinous nature. Children whose lives were ruined by an acts from a man they thought they could trust.
At the end of the day, its just football and some things are more important than football. Much more important.
