The Boston Red Sox interviewed Milwaukee Brewers hitting coach Dale Sveum for its manager job today.

Dale Sveum is the second candidate the Red Sox have interviewed so far with Phillies bench coach Pete Mackanin interviewing on Monday.

Sveum has ties to Boston with him serving as third base coach in 2004 and 2005. Many Red Sox fans regard him as one of the worst third base coaches the Sox have had. Sveum briefly served as interim manager of the Brewers in 2008 when Ned Yost was fired with 12 games to go in the season.

The Red Sox have not set a time table as to when they will name the new manager.
