Royals Trade Cabrera To Giants
The Kansas City Royals traded outfielder Melky Cabrera to the San Francisco Giants for pitcher Jonathan Sanchez and a minor leaguer.
Melky Cabrera had a career season this past year, his only season in Kansas City, hitting .305, 18 home runs, and 87 RBIs. Sanchez was 4-7 this season with a 4.26 ERA. He was the best pitcher for the Giants going down the stretch in their World Series winning season of 2010. He missed the final month of this season with an ankle sprain.
With Cabrera's departure, Lorenzo Cain is expected to replace him in the Kansas City outfield.
