The University of Tennessee has finally found its next head football coach and have decided to hire Cincinnati Bearcats football coach Butch Jones, according to sources.
Tennessee has scheduled a 2:30 press conference to announce Jones' hiring at the school. The University of Cincinnati has already confirmed and announced Jones' resignation at the school.
Butch Jones replaced Brian Kelly three seasons ago after Kelly left the school to become Notre Dame's new football coach. Jones went 23-14 in his three seasons at Cincinnati and won a share of the Big East title his final two seasons at Cincinnati. Jones won the Liberty Bowl last season and has his team in the Belk Bowl this year playing the Duke Blue Devils.
Jones replaces Derek Dooley who went 15-21 in his three years at Tennessee. Under Dooley, Tennessee recorded a losing season in three straight seasons for the first time since 1909-1911 seasons.
