Todd Haley Hired As Steelers Offensive Coordinator
Former Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley has been hired as the offensive coordinator of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Haley would replace Bruce Arians, who was fired shortly after the Steelers shocking loss to the Denver Broncos in the Wild Card round. Haley, 45, was the offensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals in 2007-08, their only Super Bowl appearance.
Haley spent two plus seasons as the Chiefs head coach going 19-26 with a 2010 AFC West crown.
The hiring of Haley is an odd one for the Steelers. Pittsburgh has had a history of promoting within. The last time the Steelers made an outside hire for offensive coordinator was in 1999 when Pittsburgh hired current New York Giants coordinator Kevin Gilbride.
