Voided Trade Saves NFL Players Life
The Detroit Lions were preparing to trade running back Jerome Harrison to the Philadelphia Eagles. But when the Eagles performed a physical on Harrison they found a brain tumor and voided the deal.
The trade would have sent Eagles running back Ronnie Brown to Detroit for Harrison and a seventh round pick. Ronnie Brown, prior to the failed physical, expressed his happiness with joining the Detroit Lions.
Harrison is most likely out for the year, but his long-term prognosis is good and may play football again. The trade most likely saved Harrison's life as he would have never taken a physical had he stayed with the Lions.
Without Harrison, the Lions are short on running backs with Jahvid Best being advised by doctors to sit out the rest of the season after suffering the second concussion of the season on Sunday.
