Palmer's Lack Of Playbook Knowledge Caused Poor Play
Newly acquired Oakland Raiders quarterback Carson Palmer only knew 15 plays from the Raiders playbook when he was placed into the game on Sunday.
Raiders coach Hue Jackson placed Palmer in the game in the second half after Kyle Boller was so ineffective in the first half. Boller went 7-14 with three picks including a pick six. Carson Palmer however was not much better going 8-21 with three interceptions also including a pick six.
Palmer was told by the Raiders coaching staff that he was not going to play against the Chiefs. So when Jackson put Palmer into the game, needless to say he was shocked. He only knew 15 plays and the Raiders just played those over and over for the rest of the game. And it showed.
The Raiders have an off week this week and Palmer now has an extra week to learn the playbook and should make the next start for the Silver and Black. Those 15 plays he should know by heart now.
