Bears CB Jaylon Johnson Has A Message For Caleb Williams
Jamie Sabau-USA TODAY Sports

The hype surrounding USC quarterback Caleb Williams is real and the possibility of the Chicago Bears selecting him in the 2024 NFL draft is growing more and more likely with each passing day. Some people around the league expressed concerns with Williams's attitude and "Hollywood Style" approach to life. But Bears cornerback, Jaylon Johnson, doesn't believe that to be an issue and expects the best out of the rising star after the team gets to know him.

Johnson was on 'Up and Adams' hosted by Kay Adams and she asked the Pro Bowl cornerback about Caleb Williams and how the team would handle a "Hollywood player" coming into the locker room.

Jaylon Johnson On The Bears Drafting Caleb Williams

Kay Adams asked Jaylon Johnson about many things in the NFL including the Bears picking Caleb Williams in the 2024 draft. She asked:

Adams also asked if Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus was up to the task of handling a rookie like Caleb Williams, to which Johnson laughed and said he hoped so. Then Johnson replied:

Johnson continued by describing how the veterans will get to know Caleb Williams if the Bears do draft him in April. He mentioned a fine line between proving a point to a rookie and getting to know the man he is.

"... At the end of the day, we want him to be the absolute best he can be... That's what we're bringing him in for, to win games... Learning who he is as a person, learning him deeper than just all the Hollywood stuff you see... Knowing what pushes him. If trash-talking makes him crumble... I feel like we got to push that button, because people in the game, they're going to push that button... That's our duty as his teammates to make him better, to strengthen his weaknesses."

Johnson isn't threatening Williams by any means. He's being a good teammate and a welcoming veteran. Honesty and humility go a long way when transferring from college football to the NFL, no matter how skilled a player is.

The league will be put on notice when the Chicago Bears select Caleb Williams first overall in the 2024 NFL draft. The Monsters of the Midway are serious this season and with plenty of moving parts coming into place before the draft, the Bears just might be a playoff sleeper team to watch out for.
