Trade Partner Emerges for Steelers' Diontae Johnson

The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly open to trading wide receiver Diontae Johnson and are listening to offers from teams around the league. According to 93.7 The Fan's Andrew Filliponi, one team that has emerged as a candidate is the Arizona Cardinals.

The Cardinals are letting top wide receiver Marquise Brown hit the free agency market, leaving them with question marks at wide receiver. With a commitment to Kyler Murray at quarterback, the team is likely shopping for wideouts this offseason, and could have their eyes on a proven veteran via trade.

As for compensation in a Johnson trade, Filliponi points to the large number of draft picks the Cardinals currently hold. Heading into free agency, Arizona has six picks in the first three rounds, including three third-round selections.

They also hold $56 million in available cap space, allowing them to take on the $15.8 million salary of Johnson this season.

It's unknown what the Steelers would be able to get for Johnson. After the Cleveland Browns acquired Jerry Jeudy from the Denver Broncos for a fifth-round pick, it seems like the market may be going in the wrong direction, but if Pittsburgh could land a selection high enough, they may make the move and look to add another starter through free agency or the NFL Draft.
