AC Milan are set to undergo more midfield changes in the summer despite bringing in three new players for that position in the 2023 summer transfer window.

As reported by Calciomercato.it, there will be a change in midfield but it is not going to be a revolution to the same level as last summer.

It is clear that one new midfielder will be arriving at the club, as there is a need for a proper defensive midfielder who can help out the defence more effectively than those that are currently at the club.

A whole host of names have been linked with Milan for this role, with Monaco’s Youssouf Fofana being one of them. He may cost more than Milan would like, and he is more likely to go to the Premier League. For the same reasons, they may not be able to sign Khephren Thuram.

There are two profiles in the Premier League who have just one year on their contracts. There is Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, and Manchester United’s Sofyan Amrabat who is expected to return to Fiorentina from his loan.

There is a very real chance that Ismael Bennacer will leave the club this summer, with interest from the Premier League and Saudi Arabia. Yacine Adli could also be sold if the right bid were to come in, which would then mean two midfielders have to be signed.
