Alessio Zerbin was the MOTM in NapoliFiorentina, but the Tuscans’ winger Jonathan Ikone had a terrible night and missed a penalty in the first half.

Napoli

Gollini 6 – Ikone sent him the wrong way from the spot, but he didn’t get the goal.

Di Lorenzo 7 – The Italy international started in a three-man defence but did run forward at times and made the assist for Zerbin’s first goal.

Rrahmani 6.5 – Fiorentina strikers never really caused trouble for him.

Juan Jesus 7 – Delivered the assist for Simeone on the counter-attack

Mazzocchi 6 – Started for the first time ever for the Partenopei and this time, it wasn’t a nightmare despite a slight injury in the final minutes. (82′ Zerbin 8 – Scored a brace in five minutes. A night he will never forget, days before joining Frosinone on loan. MOTM)

Cajuste 6.5 – A solid performance. Probably a two-man midfield suits him more. (77′ Gaetano 6)

Lobotka 7 – He seemed the old Lobotka tonight. Nearly covered the entirety of the pitch and passing accuracy was 95%. Impressive.

Mario Rui 5.5 – Not a terrible performance, but he caused the penalty for Fiorentina in the first half. It could have been costly. (72′ Ostigard 6)

Politano 6 – Lively down the right flank, especially in the first half, but didn’t create much. (72′ Lindstrom 6)

Simeone 7 – Scored a vital goal against his former club, finalising a counter-attack perfectly.

Kvaratskhelia 5 – Somehow hidden on the left flank. No successful dribbles, 83% passing accuracy. Not the real Kvara. (72′ Zielinski 6)

Coach: Mazzarri 7 – This Napoli version is closer to Mazzarri’s style. Three-man defence, quick transitions and no high pressing. There were still issues, but at least it was efficient.

Fiorentina

Terracciano 6 – Not at fault for any of Napoli’s three goals. Good save on Politano in the opening minutes.

Kayode 4.5 – Too slow in the build-up of Napoli’s opener and gave up too early.

Milenkovic 5.5 – Some good interceptions, but not enough to avoid a defeat.

Martinez Quarta 5.5 – Unlucky as he hit the woodwork in the first half, but he was too soft defensively.

Biraghi 5 – Came close to scoring in the opening stages, but his left-foot effort was inches wide. Outran by Simeone for Napoli’s opening goal. (68′ Parisi 4.5)

Arthur 5.5 – Didn’t move the ball quickly enough.

Duncan 4.5 – Poor technically, lost the ball that led to Napoli’s third.

Ikone 4 – Won a penalty kick in the first half, but he was terrible from the spot. Still no goals this season. Nightmare. (57′ Nzola 5.5)

Bonaventura 5.5 – It was not a scintillating performance, but Italy International still tried to make something happen. (88′ Faraoni N/A)

Brekalo 5 – Didn’t create anything. (57′ Sottil 5.5)

Beltran 5 – Had a goal disallowed for offside and didn’t do much more. (88′ Barak N/A)

Coach: Italiano 5 – Didn’t deserve such a heavy defeat, but they didn’t keep a high intensity and lacked attention in defence.
